Paypal researching the possibility of in store payments.

Paypal is testing the possibility of being able to pay for items in retail stores with paypal. Currently paypal is going to test this in 5 Home Depot stores before making further decisions. PayPal president Scott Thompson left to become Yahoo's CEO a few days ago. Paypal's aim this year is to work their way into retail stores.

  1. I don't know if I like this...I have had so many issues with PayPal in the past, and this just seems like a big old cluster waiting to happen.

  2. Not sure how this would work, I do however think that NFC in phones is the future(and it actually works today).

  5. Uh. Why? When I got money into my PayPal from selling things on Ebay I sent it straight to my bank account. Why pay FROM the middle man now?

  13. Herr Van Helsing, If the goat would eat the grass so I wouldn't need a yard service, then yes, I would like a goat. But what do I do when it rains and where would he sleep at night? I doubt if the dogs want a goat in the bed. Sometimes PayPal is O.K. and sometimes it sucks. I don't want PayPal to take over the world. That's for Pinky and the Brain to do.

  14. Fascinating idea; unfortunately, I see it as being a bit behind what I call 'The Amazon.com Factor'

  21. It's practically the same as paying with a credit card, so I see no real use for it.

  22. This will be a huge expansion for their market. Their CEO is a forward thinking man.

  23. Interesting idea, though the whole point I got PayPal was to pay for internet products. I don't need it for retail.

  24. yea, like R.gers said, the whole point of paypal is to pay for internet products, no reason for they to do that.
