New Intel Atom CPU for android phones and tablets

This new Intel atom CPU (Z2580) is a new extremely fast dual core chip that's even faster than some of the quad core chips that are now in high end tablets. It runs up to 1.8ghz and has a PowerVR SGX 544MP2 graphics processing unit. So in a few months start looking for smart phones with intel processors!

  4. yeah, "extremely fast" bit there is hilarious. Anyone actually run any machines on an atom? No, well I have, they are dogs and intels graphics have left something to be desired since they started bundling them with chipsets. This is going to be power hungry and slow relative to all the arm's everyone else is using.

  9. Wonder where all this technology is heading, Moores law says it will keep going, supply and demand, we want faster and better. Soon people will be downloading in to the internet like Case. Atom seems curiously old fashioned, the term belongs in the fifties, when America had that big leap in technology thanks to the Nazi scientists, England too. Every billboard promised a city of the future, and they always had some kind of atomic symbol on it.
