Intel Ivy Bridge (22nm) CPU's expected early May

Intel's first 22nm cpu is expected to hit the market sometime early May this year. This new cpu boasts Intel's new 3D transistor technology which helped intel pack 1.4 billion transistors into ivy bridge! As a reference the first generation core I7 had 750M transistors second had 1 billion and now 1.4. Also being a 22nm cpu means less power so notebooks featuring third generation core i7 cpu's will likely be some of the fastest notebooks ever available.

  8. Amazing, and the 22 nm technology helps with power consumption. I wonder how they fit all those transistors in.

  9. I'm a writer and so I'm not sure what you're going on about but it's good news, right? Sounds like technology is advancing faster than I can keep up with.

  10. The size of processing cores now is just becoming unreal. Look at the GTX680 as well. 28nm and 3.5 billion transistors.

  16. I want that in my notebook. 22nm is really small though, how is it even possible. Should read a science book...
